Yet another audio leak surfaced on Monday wherein former CJP Saqib Nisar is allegedly using derogatory language against Maryam Nawaz – Senior Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.
In the clip, Nisar and the other man, said to be PTI's Tariq Khawaja Rahim, allegedly discuss Maryam's remarks against the ex-CJP in public speeches.
During the leaked conversation, Tariq advises Nisar to "give the woman that speaks so much a befitting response".
At this, Nisar allegedly says he has the courage to bear it, but that when the need arises, "I will ask you to do something explosive".
Reacting to the clip, PM Shehbaz condemned the "abusive language" used and said, "Society, especially women, should strongly condemn this speech and abusive mindset about women".
He added that "only collective condemnation of the act can bring a stop to such a mindset in the society".
It merits mentioning here that earlier, Nisar claimed his WhatsApp account had been hacked and said he suspected a misuse of his data to twist facts for political motives.
On March 7, Maryam Nawaz lashed out at Nisar for "facilitating" Imran Khan during his term in power.
Addressing a rally in Sheikhupura, Maryam criticised the ex-CJP for saying that he hadn't declared Imran Khan as 'completely' sadiq and ameen (truthful and honest) when he was the chief justice.
Now, Saqib Nisar has taken that certificate back, she said and added that it was deliberate on Nisar’s part since he knew that the PTI chair would get involved in corruption in the days to come.
Maryam — who is also the party’s chief organiser — labelled the former CJP a “liar” and the one who “put the fate of the nation in the hands of a narcotic user”.
The PML-N leader holds the ex-CJP and Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed, and others responsible for the ouster of the party's government in 2017.
