Minor Girl Killed After Alleged Sexual Assault In Islamabad
A minor girl was allegedly raped and brutally killed in Islamabad late on Sunday, multiple reports suggest.

The eight-year-old's head was smashed with a rock, and her body was found at a construction site of Bara Kahu area of the federal capital.

There are also reports of a teenage suspect being taken into custody on suspicion of their involvement in the crime.

Preliminary report

Meanwhile, Islamabad police took to Twitter to let the public know that the incident is being probed, but said that there has been no evidence, from initial investigation, of a sexual assault prior to the murder.

The law enforcement agency further said that a conclusion could be drawn once the postmortem report is available.

The police added that investigation is being carried out using advanced and scientific methods, saying all resources will be utilised to bring those responsible for the murder of the minor girl to justice.

Lahore incident

Earlier this month, unidentified men gang-raped a girl and left her on a road in an unconscious condition in Lahore.

As per details, the girl was found in an unconscious state on the road adjacent to Jheddo village in Kahna. Upon receiving information from residents, police reached the spot and shifted the victim to a hospital.

In her statement to the police, the victim said that two men raped her, and after abusing her, they left her on the road in an unconscious condition.

The police had said that further investigation is underway to ascertain the facts.

Khairpur acquittal

Last month, a former Khairpur teacher was acquitted of raping his students, causing an online backlash.

The convict, Sarang Shar was acquitted by a sessions judge of the district who ‘scrutinised’ the evidence and police reports before reaching the said conclusion.

Shar – who offered private tuition –  was arrested in 2020 after videos and pictures of him molesting the children went viral on social media.
