Journalist Aamir Ghauri said on Wednesday that the remarks made by outgoing Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa over the course of his farewell speech at a GHQ event held the same day were akin to an acknowledgment of his mistakes.
Ghauri made the comments in flagship Naya Daur TV show Khabar Say Aagay. Whenever similar views were aired by anybody else earlier they were branded traitors, he said. Journalist Mosharraf Zaidi said the kind of address delivered by Bajwa was unfit to be aired by by any army chief. He said the job of an army chief was not to monitor social media. Any army chief, he said, stood tasked with leading the force in a fitting fashion.
The Friday Times -- Naya Daur editor Raza Rumi said it was common knowledge that the "Ministry of Agriculture" was busy facilitating turncoats in the run up to the 2018 general elections. The same 'department', he said, was behind the Result Transmission System (RTS) failing to function on the eve of the general elections.
