Ahmadiyya Worship Place in AJK Attacked By 'Mob'

A mob of around 40 people attacked an Ahmadiyya place of worship in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

The attack brought to an end a short period of respite where Ahmadiyya places of worship in the country were not attacked.

According to the Ahmadiyya community, Friday's attack took place in the Doliyan Jatan area of Kotli District of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

A community spokesperson said that around 40 unidentified miscreants arrived at the place of worship prior to afternoon prayers on Friday.

They destroyed the minarets and niche of the worship place within remits of the Narr Police Station in Kotli.

They then left while chanting religious slogans.

The community said that this specific place of worship was built in 1954.

This year alone, 40 Ahmadiyya places of worship were desecrated across the country.

The community said that the attack should be a wake-up call for the authorities.

They demanded that the authorities take action against the culprits.
