The roundup of political leaders continued before the general elections; all the supporters of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry and his cousin Fouq Sherbaz were illegally abducted from their homes and transferred to an unknown location in Jhelum.
Senior journalist Azaz Syed said in his post on X (formerly Twitter) that all the supporters of Fawad Chaudhry and his cousin Fouq Sherbaz have been picked up from their homes and shifted to an unknown location. Hussain, Nauman Azhar, and Chaudhry Mazhar Gondal are among the abducted supporters.
He further said that such activities before the elections are making fun of Pakistan all over the world. When will our decision-makers learn a lesson?
Earlier on December 22, Fawad Chaudhry's brother Faraz Chaudhry was arrested from Kachehri Jhelum district while submitting the nomination papers of Fawad Chaudhry for the NA 60 constituency.
It is pertinent to mention here that Faraz Chaudhry was wanted in several cases, and he was also the former general secretary of PTI Jhelum.
Later, Faraz Chaudhry's wife, Bina Faraz, applied for release with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). In the petition filed by Bina Faraz, the arrest of Faraz Chaudhry was declared illegal.
It should be noted that on December 16, NAB issued an arrest warrant for Fawad Chaudhry in the Jhelum Pindaddan Road case, while the District and Sessions Court of Islamabad had allowed the execution of the warrant.
The arrest warrant stated that Fawad Chaudhry should be arrested and produced before the court, adding that the inquiry would begin after his appearance before the court.
Fawad Chaudhry is accused of taking a commission for road construction in the Chakwal area, for which his arrest warrant was issued.
