Two police personnel have embraced martyrdom, and another two were critically injured when a magnetic bomb attached to their vehicle exploded in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district.
Police officials said the magnetic bomb exploded when the vehicle was patrolling near Jhalawan Complex.
Fahad Khosa, Khuzdar’s senior superintendent of police, said, "It was a remote-controlled magnetic explosive that had been mounted to the police vehicle by unknown individuals."
Three police officers were hurt; one of them eventually passed away in the hospital, while the vehicle's driver died instantly.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Kalat Range, Pervaiz Khan Umrani, and Khuzdar Deputy Commissioner Ilyas Kibzai reached the site along with police and Frontier Corps officials soon after the bomb exploded in Khuzdar.
Security personnel surrounded the area and moved the injured and deceased to the hospital. Din Muhammad and Abdul Salam were named as the deceased policemen. Saddam and Abdul Latif are among the injured policemen.
To identify the individuals or entities responsible for the bomb attack, security forces have started a search operation in and around Khuzdar town.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo has denounced the explosion and ordered the authorities to use every legal means at their disposal to apprehend those responsible.
On Tuesday, two Levies personnel were martyred after terrorists attacked their check post near Babri area of Mastung district in Balochistan.
Following the terrorist attack, locals in the vicinity barricaded the national route between Quetta and Taftan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the terror attack and prayed for the martyred personnel’s great positions in the afterlife. He also expressed his condolences to the families of the martyred personnel. The morale of the security forces is high in the war against terrorism, PM Shehbaz said.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo also denounced the attacks on the check post. Bizenjo also expressed sorrow over the martyrdom of Levies personnel. He expressed his sympathies for the families of the terrorist attack victims.
CM Bizenjo expressed concern over the rise in terror incidents, saying the enemies want to deteriorate the peace of Balochistan.
