A senior civil judge was arrested for raping a girl in Lower Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Balambat police station where a woman from Chitral lodged a complaint saying that she was sexually assaulted by the judge.
The survivor was medically examined at the District Headquarters Hospital.
The accused, senior civil judge Jamshed Kundi, was arrested after the medical report of the girl proved that she was raped.
In her complaint, the survivor said that the accused lured her with a job opportunity for her sister and got her to give her jewellery worth lacs in exchange for the job. However, he later told her that the job is no longer available and that she could come to his house to get her jewellery back.
He took the victim to his official residence where he told her to have sex with him. Upon the girl's refusal, he allegedly raped her.
The victim had spoken to the judge about her sister's job some three months ago and the judge had asked for 15 lac rupees, after which the girl had given him the jewellery.
