Early Days of YouTube Career

KSI or 'JJ' as he likes to be called, has been a topic of some controversy ever since he became famous on YouTube around 2010 to 2013. The YouTuber started his career as a video game player, playing primarily FIFA and COD and later started creating skits with the help of his best-friend and now fellow Sidemen member Simon Minter, who goes by the name Miniminter on YouTube. However, he had a dark sense of humor that got him into a lot of trouble at times especially when he began making skits and interviewing random pedestrians on the streets of London.

Call to international Fame

Now however, he's is an irreplaceable part of YouTube, as permanent as Mount Everest and loved by all. His fame grew to international level when he released 'Lamborghini', a song featuring himself and British rapper P Money which has gained 125 million views alongside 2.4 million likes on YouTube, in 2015. After that, it was all uphill. His channel gained insane views and traction and with his Sidemen group, he was on top of the world. His main content during those days were football-related and video-game centric.

Diss-track Season

Between 2017 and 2018, KSI started to argue online with his younger  brother Deji in public. KSI and his Sidemen group got involved along with other London-based Youtubers they were associated with which prompted Deji to released a 'diss-track' against the Sidemen. This prompted retaliatory diss-tracks from all of the Youtubers involved and 2018 became a year of controversy and great music on YouTube with KSI and his Sidemen group at the center of everything. However, even when it was later revealed that the whole thing was scripted, the brother's arguments were not and it caused the Olatunji family to be separated for quite a while. It was only in 2022 when the brothers made peace and became friendly toward each other again. This happened after Deji's loss to YouTuber Alex Wassabi in the boxing ring.

Boxing Career

KSI's fame was solidified when he fought Logan Paul in a series of two boxing matches. The first match was a draw but KSI won the second fight by split-decision. He had won his his debut match against UK YouTuber Joe Weller by TKO that same year in 2018 on 3rd February and followed it up with the Logan Paul fights, he became more famous than ever. Indeed in many ways, his most hyped events are his boxing ones.

Music Career

He was already making music for quite a while with 'Lamborghini' and the diss-tracks but he began his music career in earnest in 2018/2019 and started putting up music on Spotify and Apple Music. He is currently running his own record label 'The Online takeover' and is also signed with Atlantic Records as well as Warner Music Group.

Aftermath

JJ is currently focusing on his boxing career and his upcoming fight with Jake Paul, Logan Paul's younger brother. The online community has been waiting for this fight for 5 years now ever since JJ and Jake Paul began their rivalry in 2018 and it is highly likely that their fight will break pay-per-view (PPV) records. JJ and Logan are also good friends now and have even founded a new beverage company together called 'Prime'. The drink has been a huge success, especially in the UK where the demand is so high it's barely met. Prime also sponsors Arsenal FC, who are right now top of the Premier League table and favorites to win the league.
