Policeman Killing Case: PTI-Affiliated Ex-Army Officer And Son Remanded
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-affiliated father and son, Major (retd) Sajid Husain and Akrama Baloch, who were allegedly involved in the killing of a police constable during a raid at their house in Lahore, were remanded into police custody by an anti-terrorism court on Thursday.

The accused were presented before the court by the police. The investigating officer probing the case appealed for a 14-day physical remand of the accused into police custody, so that the case may be thoroughly investigated.

However, the court rejected the appeal and instead only allowed a seven-day remand. The court also instructed the police to summon the accused at the next hearing of the case.

Constable Kamal Ahmad was shot dead on Monday night, during a raid at a PTI leader Major (retd) Sajid Husain's house in Model Town, when an unidentified man opened fire from the PTI representative’s rooftop.

According to the FIR, police showed up to Sajid Hussain’s house at 1:40 am. Shortly afterwards, “two armed men”, Sajid Hussain and Akrama Bukhari appeared on the terrace of the house and questioned the police.

When the police informed them that they were conducting a search operation regarding tenancy, the two armed men got angry and Hussain instructed his son Bukhari to open fire at the policemen, fatally wounding Kamal Ahmed, said the FIR.

The federal government and the PTI have been exchanging blame for the incident, with each side accusing each other for the death of Kamal.
