In a now deleted tweet, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shireen Mazari shared an old video from a teachers' protest during her party's government in 2021, where the protestors were shelled by the then-government, claiming it to be from the PTI's recent long march.
The video in question was taken during a strike conducted by teachers and educationists in Islamabad in 2021, where they were protesting against the PTI government's decision to devolve the Federal Department of Education to the local government as per the Local Government Ordinance 2021.
During the protests, security officials engaged in shelling and tear gassing the protestors in an attempt to get them to disperse.
Shireen Mazari retweeted the video and claimed that the smoke from the tear gas and shelling was the incumbent government's attempt to quash the long march and harm PTI protestors.
However, soon after sharing the video, people on Twitter took notice and began to point out that this was a video from 2021 wherein the PTI government had shelled the protesting teachers.

Mazari quickly deleted her tweet as the comments piled on, but local fact-checking sites had picked up the inaccurate tweet, and began calling her out for spreading baseless propaganda.
Meanwhile, several other PTI supporters had also been sharing the video without acknowledging that it was from an older event during their own party's regime.

A video posted by journalist Asma Shirazi in 2021, along with the hashtag #TeachersProtest has also been making the rounds, as people are calling out PTI supporters for their nonfactual claims.
