A group of TikTokers who were firing gunshots while recording their videos caused killing of a citizen in Karachi. The suspects accidentally gunned down a citizen in Malir city a few days ago and were caught by the police on Thursday.
As per the initial inquiry into the matter, the accused are TikTok users and they opened fire 'for adventure'. Police recovered the weapon used in the incident and a motorcycle was also confiscated from them. The authorities are said to be carrying out further investigation into the incident.
On December 23, a man identified as Qamar Raza received severe wounds in a firing incident at Ghazi Chowk area of Malir. He succumbed to his injuries while being treated at the hospital. According to the CCTV footage of the incident, four accused came on two motorbikes.
SSP Malir Irfan Bahadur said that two suspects were arrested on Tuesday. The arrested individuals are between 14 and 15 years-old. During the initial phase of investigation, the accused claimed to have opened fire 'for fun'. The victim stood on the road outside his house when a bullet hit him in the stomach.
The SSP told media that the CCTV footage has confirmed the identity of the accused.
