Internationally renowned fashion designer Mehmood Bhatti has broken his silence on former chief justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar’s alleged bias towards him.
While talking to Geo News Bureau Chief Raees Ansari, he said that then-chief justice Saqib Nisar visited his hospital along with a squad of heavy security and media teams and harassed him and his hospital administration.
He added that Saqib Nisar ridiculed him by saying ‘robber’ in front of media persons without any reason. "Saqib Nisar directed me to appear before the court and remember to not appear in the 'designer dress' I was wearing at that time," he added. He alleged that the former chief justice did that all because his brother was also a doctor.
Mehmood Bhatti said that he was quite active in doing social work, and he sponsored the weddings of girls hailing from poor families and gave scholarships to Punjab University students.
He added that after that incident, he became badly dishearted and stopped taking part in welfare work. He said that the country’s justice system has so many flaws that they need to be fixed.
While criticizing the activities of Saqib Nisar during his tenure as chief justice of Pakistan, he questioned, "How can a judge involve himself in administration?"
