Federal interior minister Sheikh Rasheed has stated that the terrorist involved in the attack on FC personnel in Quetta came to Pakistan from Afghanistan. He also mentioned the earlier attack on Chinese citizens in Gwadar.
The interior minister was addressing a press conference in Islamabad. He noted, “The terrorists involved in Quetta and Gwadar blasts were both from Afghanistan.”
In the attack on the FC in Quetta, the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility, while the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for that in Gwadar.
At the press conference, the interior minister noted that the new Taliban regime in Afghanistan had promised not to let anyone use its territory against foreign countries – and reiterated Pakistan's reciprocal commitment on this matter.
On this occasion, he also opined that India had been defeated in Afghanistan, and that it was the only country in the region that “faced humiliation repeatedly.”
