Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, late on Friday, signed a summary to dissolve the Sindh Assembly.
A simple ceremony was held at the Governor House in Karachi where Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, along with senior members of the Sindh cabinet and other Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders, personally brought the summary to the governor in a comprehensive farewell meeting.
In a tweet, Tessori stated that over the past ten months that he had served as governor, they had an exemplary working relationship with each other.
He then signed the summary to dissolve the assembly.
The Sindh government had already communicated to the federal government that they will not follow the centre in dissolving their assembly on August 9 and that they shall do so on the 11th after a round of farewell speeches and events in the provincial assembly.

As per the law, Shah will continue to hold the office till the appointment of a caretaker chief minister. However, his cabinet stands dissolved. According to the Constitution, the governor shall dissolve the provincial assembly if so advised by the chief minister; and the provincial assembly shall, unless sooner dissolved, stand dissolved at the expiration of forty-eight hours after the chief minister has so advised.
Shah and Leader of the Opposition Rana Ansar, who belongs to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), are expected to hold talks on the caretaker chief minister in the province.
