A decaying three-story structure collapsed in Multan's Mohalla Jawadian near Haram Gate on Tuesday, killing at least nine people, three of whom were women, and injuring two others.
Rescue officials said they received a call about the tragedy at 3:30 a.m., and the teams went to the scene to begin the rescue operations.
They said that a total of 11 people were trapped under the rubble when the structure fell, nine of whom died. Meanwhile, two of them were being treated at Nishtar Hospital and were in serious condition.
As per rescue officials, seven of the deceased belonged to the same family. According to the district administration, the dead include children aged 12 to 15 years old.
The victims were named as Danish (15), Faheem Abbas (40), Ameer Ali (12), Waseem (14), Sanoobar (40), Bukhtawar Ameen (18), and Komal (13).
Furthermore, Waqar and Mussarat Bibi suffered critical injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
The rescue operation has been completed.
