At Least Two Killed, Five injured In Kurram Blast

An explosion on Koram Road in the Kurram district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) province killed at least two people and injured five others on Sunday.

The 1122 rescue teams arrived at the spot. They verified two fatalities and said the injured were sent to a local hospital for medical care.

Four people are in serious condition, according to rescue officials.

On June 9, at least nine people, including seven army military personnel, were injured in two separate terrorist assaults in the Kurram and Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) areas of the country.

Unidentified terrorists assaulted a security checkpoint in the Kurram tribal region Wednesday night, injuring seven military personnel. The attempt was thwarted after a strong exchange of fire, causing the assailants to run away into the darkness.

A contingent of the army was dispatched to the area as reinforcement, and the injured were brought to a nearby hospital.

A major and captain were also hurt. All of them were rushed to the hospital, where one of the injured is in critical condition.

According to police, a search operation had begun in the neighborhood, and numerous suspects had been apprehended.
