District and Sessions Judge Shakirullah Marwat, who was kidnapped by armed persons along the boundary of Tank and Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has been safely recovered.
Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister's information advisor, verified Marwat's recovery and stated that he has been securely shifted to his residence.
Barrister Saif said, "More information regarding the incident will be made public later."
The judge, who is assigned to South Waziristan, was reportedly abducted on Saturday by armed men from the Bagwal hamlet, which is located in the border region between Tank and DI Khan.
The incident occurred when the session judge was returning from duty, according to DI Khan Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Muhammad Adnan.
Earlier, a high-level special team was formed prior to the filing of the FIR to assist with the judge's prompt recovery.
The KP government and the Peshawar High Court (PHC) also took notice of the incident.
The provincial police chief and KP Home secretary were summoned by the PHC, and both were directed to recover the abducted judge as soon as possible.
The team was formed after the judge stated in a 63-second video that the militants had some demands from the government and that they would only release him after their demands were met.
