Omission & commission

In his recent interview, Mush has been surprisingly circumspect about his successor Canny and his faults of omission and commission. Our mole reports that in private, Mush is far more critical. His gripe is not only personal (he feels he was let down, out-manouvered and hung out to dry). He also believes Canny compromised “the institution” by giving free rein to rellies bent on enriching themselves, and by getting an extension in service from Hubby for no reason other than “hanging on to make hay while the sun shone”.

This view of Canny is quite pervasive amongst the khakis. Our mole reports that while Canny & Co may be itching to get away to the land Down Under, where he is believed to have made large investments, he’s been advised to stay put. There were also rumours of a post-retirement nervous breakdown and ill health and worst of all, Gen Bobby taking a dim view of Canny’s rellies and their burgeoning business. Our mole reports that certain “contracts” are being scrutinised for propriety and we’ve heard that some bills have been halted on the way. There were even rumours of some rellies being brought to book but this was halted when civ-mil relations nosedived during the Mush trial and Dharna sagas.

Back to school

The Great Khan's wife visited a school in Isloo the other day, to raise consciousness about the plight of Pakhtunkhwa's IDPs, and to raise funds for the schooling needs of displaced children. The kids noticed that she was unaware of the number of IDPs and was prompted by an assistant. They say she also brought her own video cameraman and makeover artist along, who did the needful by filming her at her task, and adjusting her make-up as she went along.
