Police on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly raping his daughter over seven years in the Indian city of Ambala.
The minor told police her father first raped her when she was a grade three student and continued over the next seven years. She said she had remained mum because her father had threatened her of dire consequences.
The police said the suspect has been booked under the 2012 Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). A medical of the victim has been conducted.
The matter came to the fore after the girl took her maternal uncle into confidence.
