Partners in crime

The British upper crust is in the news these days, with the now infamous partnership-in-crime of Prince Andrew with the deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. So much so that at his own daughter Princess Beatrice’s wedding, Prince Andrew was conspicuous by his absence from the coverage, embroiled as he is in the sex scandal whereby he stands accused of having sex with minors, provided by Epstein. “The Palace” as Queen Elizabeth’s office is known, took pains to show only Her Majesty and HRH Prince Philip in wedding photographs with the beaming bride and her groom. We hear Prince Andrew did host a reception for his daughter at his home, The Royal Lodge, Windsor, but it was decided to release snaps minus him.

Epstein’s other (major) partner in crime is former media baron Robert Maxwell’s daughter Ghislaine. Although educated at Oxford, Ghislaine Maxwell was best known for being a socialite and “facilitator” of Epstein; she has faced persistent allegations of procuring and sexually trafficking underage girls for Epstein and others, including Prince Andrew. After Epstein’s arrest and conviction last year, it was only a matter of time before Maxwell was apprehended. Epstein committed suicide in prison, leading to Maxwell’s disappearance from public view. She was arrested recently from New Hampshire and is being held without bail in a New York prison. In his salad days, we hear The Great Khan also knew Ghislaine Maxwell and she moved around in the same rarified London social set. There are photographs from the late 80s and early 90s with the two at a party together. Others who rubbed shoulders with the socialite were The Khan’s ex in-laws, the Goldsmiths and some members of The Khan’s then social circle.

Man proposes …

Guess whose bright idea it was to pick up the crusading journalist Matty, and disappear him? None other than the man who is known to Forage off authoritarian regimes. That such a gent can be entrusted with the law, beggars the mind, but there it is. Our mole says he mooted the idea of Matty’s abduction with the powers-that-be given that Mr M was “incorrigible” and was giving “ideas to their lordships on the bench”. Forager argued that with most of the Press having come to heel, a strong message needed to be sent out to social media activists like Matty and his ilk. But then man proposes and God disposes.
