Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Latif Khosa said on Monday that his son, advocate Khurram Latif Khosa, was arrested by Mozang police station officers.
Khosa said Supreme Court Advocate Sardar Khurram Latif Khosa was taken into custody from his office near the high court, adding that they were being targeted because of their PTI affiliation.
Police confirmed the arrest in a statement, saying a case had been filed against Khurram at the Mozang police station. According to the first information report (FIR), Advocate Khurram and 15 to 20 other lawyers attacked police officers.
According to the FIR, they assaulted police officers and threatened them with terrible repercussions.
Balakh Sher Khosa, another son of Latif Khosa, escaped a gun assault in Lahore on January 24, 2023. In the Iqbal Town neighborhood, two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on Balakh's car, hitting him in the arm.
On December 17, Latif Khosa announced his intention to join the PTI "on the wish" of imprisoned PTI founder Imran Khan.
"I have decided this only in the interest of the country and democracy," the former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader said in a statement, adding that he had resolved to fight for the truth vehemently.
