Diary of a Social Butterfly
Look at the Talibans, naming Imran as their spokesman in piece talks with guvmunt. I said to Janoo, ‘these Talibans in ko apna koi banda nahin mila?’ So Janoo said, ‘But Imran IS their man’. I think it’s very unfair. I mean he’s not a Taliban, okay? After all, he goes to abroad every summers. In London he wears DJs and goes to cocktail parties with Charles and Camilla. His yaars are all English speaking party going, enjoying, zina dil types. He writes books in English about himself and gets them published in England and sells them in London. I mean, like Malala, no? Also foreign ka media loves him as much as they love Malala. I still remember that long Hello article about him when he had his first baby. Swear I was so proud that a Pakistani was being noticed by Hello. Kitna Imran nay hamara naam roshan kiya na abroad mein. But he’s not same as Malala. Bhai, for a start unlike Malala, he doesn’t speak bore language like Pashto. Unlike Malala, he hasn’t been shot by the Talibans. And also unlike with Malala’s book, no Talibans ever threaten to blow up a shop that sells Imran’s book. Maybe Janoo’s right. Maybe Talibans do think of him as one of them.

Hai I wish I was in Karachi now. This Bilawal ka Sindh fest looks so nice, na? So happening. So much fun with music and dance and shor sharaba. Kulchoo even made me hear Bakhtawar’s wrap about it on the inner net. Kulchoo says she’s a proper wrap artist. I think so he means she wraps her ajrak shawls nicely. Mulloo and other PTI wallahs are saying that how dare Bilawal spoil our ruins by dancing on them? And Janoo says ‘a fat lot they’ve cared about ‘our ruins’ all these yeas.’ Vaisay one thing I will say about Bilawal. He’s brave, just like his mother. Look at the way he’s openly calling the Talibans our enemies and asking guvmunt to crack down on them now only. As Janoo says that boy has more courage in his little finger, than all the PML-N wallahs and PTI-wallahs have in their whole bodies. But then PTI wallahs tau are the Talibans’ cousin brothers, no?
