Symbolic standing

The former chief adjudicator wanted to attend the swearing in ceremony of the new man, and the swearing out ceremony of his immediate successor. Some officials, however, thought the better of it, and cited security issues and the lame excuse that they could not provide protocol to one outgoing chief, one incoming chief and one former chief. The new incumbent dealt with all the “issues” and declared that he would bring the former chief adjudicator in his own car, thus avoiding the necessity for tripling the protocol. By doing this, Isloo’s wags are saying, the new man has shown the importance he attaches to the independence of the adjudicators, and the symbolic standing of the Chaudhry of them all.

Great celeb

We’ve heard that Gullu Butt, that great smasher of cars in Model Town, has become a celeb. Our mole saw him arrive at Lahore’s General Hospital, to have his injuries addressed which he got from Friar TuQ’s enraged crowd as he stepped out of a police station a few weeks ago. We hear every doctor worth the name forgot about the patients they were treating, and flocked to the great celeb Gullu Butt’s side. Lots of photographs were taken, with the docs proudly posing with Gullu, and the latter happily curling his moustache.
