Baloch Women Arrested Over Karachi Protest Say Police Threatened To Take Off Their Clothes
Baloch women who were beaten up and arrested by Sindh police on Monday night have claimed that the cops called them ‘disgraced women’ and threatened to take off their clothes.

Baloch Yakjehti Committee Karachi Organiser Amna Baloch, in a statement, condemned the Sindh police’s brutal action on women, who were protesting for the recovery of missing persons outside the provincial assembly.

The Sindh police had violently dragged over two-dozen Baloch women protesters before arresting them for demanding the recovery of two abducted students of the Karachi University. However, the arrested women were later released.

Addressing a press conference along with Sammi Deen and other activists at Karachi Press Club today, Amna said: "The police told us they would take off our jeans. Inspector Sajjad told us we are disgraced women and need to be dealt with accordingly. The police also told us that the Sindh government has given orders to beat us."

She demanded immediate suspension of Inspector Sajjad.

Earlier today, Doda Ellahi and Gamshad Baloch, the two Baloch students from the Karachi University, who were abducted by unidentified individuals a week ago, returned home.

Gamshad and Doda are both students in the Department of Philosophy at the Karachi University. 24-year-old Gamshad is in his third year, while 22-year-old Doda is a second year student.

The two share a residence in the Muskan Chowrangi neighbourhood of Karachi, which is where they were picked up from on June 7 around 5:00 AM by unknown individuals.
