Former Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, who served from 2004 to 2014, has passed away at the age of 92. Singh, who was undergoing medical treatment at a hospital in New Delhi, was a towering figure in Indian politics and economy. He is also known as the "father of modern Indian economy". Riffat Masood, Pakistan’s former ambassador to Norway, and Iran, and Deputy High Commissioner to India, in an earlier interview with host Rabia Mehmood at New Wave Global, explained the relationship between Pakistan and India during Singh’s tenure, and his vision for South Asia. She discusses how Singh’s policies and approach, alongside the leadership of Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, played a crucial role in easing tensions between the two nations.
