Reported in Nawa-e-Waqt (May 9, 2016) two cops belonging to the Dolphin Force in Lahore fell unconscious because of heat while they were on patrol. The uniform for the new force is black and very warm, and not suitable for summer.

Model Ainee Khan harassed at PTI rally


Dunya reports (May 10, 2016) when model Ainee Khan arrived at a PTI rally in Peshawar and began posing with the party’s supporters, they encircled her and began to harass her. Police watched on and the administration was helpless. She was rescued by reporters. PTI spokesman Naeemul Haq said it was a conspiracy against his party. She was provocatively dressed and create a scene (tamasha lagaya) on purpose.

Sound engineer faces the music


According to Nawa-e-Waqt (May 10, 2016) the new DJ who was assigned to operate the sound system at Imran Khan’s Peshawar rally suffered a Rs 300 loss (teen sau ka tarrka lag gya) as soon as he entered the city, when he was fined for violating a traffic rule. He identified himself and said he was Imran Khan’s guest, but the traffic police did not let him go.

Gender benders at NADRA 


In a display of over-efficiency (phurtiyan) and impatience (jald-bazi) the NADRA office in Daska turned a girl into a boy on her B-Form, according to Nai Baat (May 12, 2016). And when her father came back to get a correction made, they asked inappropriate (ultay seedhay) questions and misbehaved with him.

‘Get your nose out of our business’ 


Dunya reports (May 12, 2016) three boys riding a motorcycle in Lahore beat up a traffic warden and broke his nose. He had stopped them for checking when an argument broke out (talkh-kalami).

Bilawal Bhutto ‘Shaheed’?


Reported in Express (May 11, 2016) in her enthusiasm (josh-e-khitabat) while speaking at a PPP rally in Bagh, Faryal Talpur called her nephew and her party’s chairman Bilawal Bhutto a martyr (shaheed).

Spielberg wants to make a movie about Ali Haider Gilani


According to Jang (May 13, 2016) famous American film director Steven Spielberg called up Ali Haider Gilani and told the former prime minister’s son he wanted to make a movie about his time in Taliban captivity. The young Gilani told him he was not in a position to begin talking about it right now.

Fake policeman made a living with bribes


Reported in Dunya (May 14, 2016) traders in Lahore’s Shahdara area caught and beat up a man who used to pose as a policeman and harassed people into bribing him. He was then turned in to the Dolphin Force.

Low-hanging fruit 


When two fruit vendors in Gujranwala asked policemen to pay for the fruit they ate from their cart, they were beaten up right there (sar-e-aam thukai), according to Nawa-e-Waqt (May 14, 2016). The vendors, who were siblings, were then taken to the police station and tortured (chhitrol). They were let go when the people of the neighborhood gathered outside the police station in protest.

Married man weds transgender 


According to Express (May 15, 2016) a 26-year-old married man of Aminpur Bangla married a transgender (Khwaja Sara) and brought him home. His father tortured him (chhitrol) and turned them in to the police.
